Bunny Cake

I have a good friend, who jokingly talks about his "Happy Bunny Voice."  So, I couldn't resist making him a pink bunny cake for his birthday!
The cake was a white cake with a lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream frosting.  The bunnies were marshmallows.

Peeps!

I love Peeps!
 What's better than a Peep?
Peeps on cupcakes!

Super Mario Cake

A friend of my son was turning 5 and loves Super Mario.
Being a Super Mario Bros fan myself, I jumped at the chance to make a Super Mario cake (oh the memories!).
I had so much fun making it, too!
The cake is covered in buttercream frosting and all of the Super Mario decorations were made with fondant.
The decorations were detailed with royal icing.
 Love the little mushroom guys!

Thomas the Train Cake

Some good friends of ours' son was during two and loves Thomas the Train.
So I set to task to make him a Thomas train cake to surprise him!
All of the train is covered in fondant and the "coal" is crumbled oreo cookies.
The Thomas face was made with gumpaste.

Delaware Blue Hen Cake

A co-worker of mine is a huge Delaware Blue Hen's fan.
So, I made him a Blue Hen cake for his birthday.
The cake was red velvet with cream cheese frosting.  The Blue Hen is made with fondant.

Farm Animal Cupcakes

My youngest is in LOVE with animals!
Therefore, for his 2nd birthday I made him a TON of farm animal cupcakes.
Each cupcake topper is fondant and some of the details are piped royal icing.

2011 Super Bowl Cake

This is a fun cake I made for a Super Bowl party I was attending this year.
The cake was a double layer 9x13 Lemon Almond Awesome cake covered in buttercream frosting and green fondant.
The Super Bowl, Steelers, and Packers logos were all hand-drawn with edible food coloring markers and then painted with luster dust.
The logos were then steamed to give them a shiny coating.
The field "lines" and cake border were created using royal icing.
The footballs along the sides are fondant that were painted with brown food coloring and the stiching was replicated using royal icing.
