Beer Bottlecap Cake
This is a cake I made for a friend's husband's birthday. His favorite beer is Red Hook, so we made a cake that looks like a Red Hook bottlecap. The cake is a 16 inch chocolate cake carved into a bottlecap and then covered in buttercream frosting and red fondant. The gray lettering is fondant and all other decorations are buttercream frosting. The red fondant was brushed in red luster dust afterwards.
Iraq Deployment Sendoff Cake
My director is being deployed to Iraq for 10 months, so we gave her a surprise sendoff. The cake is a yellow sponge cake with buttercream and raspberry filling. Both layers were iced in buttercream before being covered in fondant. The bottom later is 12x18 inches and the top layer is another 12x18 inch cake carved into the shape of Iraq. The anchor (she's in the navy) and edging was completed with buttercream frosting, and her "mini me" was made from gumpaste.

This is a cake I did for a friend's friend's baby shower. The cake is a 10 inch double layer round german chocolate with the standard german chocolate filling (coconut, caramel, pecans...). The frosting is chocolate buttercream and I made the decorations (shells, blankets, baby blocks, umbrella, etc.) with chocolate as well.

First Birthday with Stars
This is a birthday cake I made for a first birthday. The cake is my "Lemon Vanilla Awesome Cake" with buttercream frosting. I carved one 9x13 cake into the number "1" and placed it on top of another 9x13 cake. All of the stars and "banners" are fondant. I curled some floral wire and put tiny fondant stars painted silver on each to have them "shooting" out of the cake.

Fenway Park
This is a cake I did for a friend's birthday. She is a huge Red Sox fan, and after I got my husband's blessing to make the cake (he's a huge Yankees fan), I set about making a small "replica" of Fenway Park's best. All parts of the cake, except the Green Monster are edible. The Green Monster is actually styrofoam covered in green fondant. Wally the Green Monster was made using gumpaste, the "fans" are regular and peanut M&Ms, and the brick side was made with fondant. (The Chick Fil A logo was added as a joke since we eat there at least once a week). Everything else is my "Lemon Almond Awesome Cake" and buttercream icing.

Mooo!
This is an 8 inch double layer round cake that I made for a friend's birthday. My friend loves cows, so I decided to run with that theme. The cake is my newly named "Lemon Almond Awesome Cake" with a buttercream and raspberry filling. The entire cake was iced in buttercream and then covered in my "Moo" fondant. The cow is made of gumpaste and the marbled balls at the base of the cake are made of marbled fondant.

The cake is a plain cake with buttercream frosting. The flowers are made with royal icing and the banner and princess are made with gumpaste. Everything was also dusted with sparkles.
